Behind the Scenes: My First Marjon Photoshoot

There are moments when an idea stops living quietly in your head and finally takes shape in the real world.

For Marjon, November 1, 2025 was one of those moments.

After months of sketching, sourcing, sampling, refining, and imagining, we gathered in my home in Fort Myers, Florida for our very first Marjon photoshoot. It was equal parts exciting, grounding, and surreal - a day where intention met reality, and where the collection began to feel real in a new way.

This shoot wasn’t about spectacle or excess. It was about ease. A day in the life. Clothes and homewares moving through real spaces, real light, real moments.

The Setting

The shoot took place at my house - exactly the environment we wanted Marjon to live in.

We called the concept simply: a day in the life.

The idea was to show the collection not as something precious or untouchable, but as something that fits seamlessly into everyday rhythms - morning light, coffee runs, flowers on the counter, walking through town.

The Schedule (and the Pace)

Our call time was 9:45am, with shooting beginning at 10am. We wrapped just after 3pm — a full but intentionally paced day.

We broke the shoot into clear chapters to keep things calm and focused:

Morning: E-Commerce (10:00–11:30am)

We started the day with e-commerce imagery - clean, straightforward shots designed to highlight fit, fabric, and construction. This part of the shoot is always quieter and more technical, but it’s essential. These images are where customers really get to understand how a piece looks and moves.

We spent about 1.5 hours capturing these foundational shots before transitioning into the campaign portion of the day.

Late Morning: Campaign at Home (11:30am–1:00pm)

From there, we shifted into storytelling.

We moved through different rooms of the house - the bedroom, living room, and outside spaces - letting the collection exist naturally in each setting. Soft knits on the bed. Light filtering through windows. Movement without posing too much.

Nothing felt rushed. We allowed moments to unfold instead of forcing them, which made the images feel honest and lived-in.

By 1:00pm, we wrapped the at-home portion of the campaign.

Midday Reset: Snack + Location Change (1:00–2:00pm)

After a quick snack and reset, we packed up and headed downtown. This break was important - not just logistically, but creatively. It gave everyone a chance to breathe, reset, and shift energy before the final portion of the shoot.

Afternoon: Campaign Downtown (2:00–3:00pm)

Downtown Fort Myers brought a different texture to the story.

We stopped at:

  • Wild at Heart Flower Shop
  • Good Ground Coffee Shop
  • And spent time simply walking around downtown

These moments were about movement, spontaneity, and ease - clothes worn while doing real things, not standing still for the sake of a photo. By 3:00pm, we wrapped the shoot, tired in the best way.

The Team Behind the Day

This shoot came together because of a small, talented, and deeply aligned team:

  • Main Photographer: Haley Cole
  • iPhone video & photo: Gabe Miranda-Sousa
  • Model: Piper Airelle
  • Director & Stylist: Me, Hannah Hayes

Keeping the team intimate allowed the day to feel collaborative and relaxed. Everyone understood the goal: create something honest, soft, and intentional.

Looking Back

This first photoshoot wasn’t about perfection. It was about alignment.

Seeing the collection styled, worn, and lived in - in the exact way I imagined when Marjon was just an idea - was incredibly grounding. It confirmed why we’re building slowly, thoughtfully, and with care.

These images are just the beginning. But they hold the energy of the day: quiet confidence, softness, and ease.

And that’s exactly where Marjon lives.
